We will use OQS to develop a toy model to study quarkonium inside a thermal medium. First we need to get familiar with the formalism. Emphasis will be placed on the use of the density matrix to describe the quantum state of the system, and on how Kraus operators and the Lindblad equation model the time evolution of systems interacting with a thermal environment. Depending on the interests of the student we can focus on different parts of the application. It is necessary to have familiarity with the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics.
