Searching for Sexaquark Dark Matter Candidates using Machine Learning at LHCb

Titor: Xabier" Cid Vidal

Supervisor: Brais Fernández Rodiño

Current evidence points to the abundant presence of Dark Matter in the Universe, but most candidates fall outside the Standard Model. However, recent research suggests the existence of "Sexaquarks", extremely tightly bound six-quark states within the Standard Model that fulfill the constraints to be Dark Matter candidates. The LHCb experiment, highly specialized in the detection of decays containing "bottom" quarks, provides a unique opportunity to discover them. In this project, we will develop Machine Learning algorithms to discriminate signal from background in LHCb Run 3 data with the objective of searching for these promising Sexaquark candidates.
